A Week of Thanks {Day 1}

Next weekend is Canadian Thanksgiving. I thought it would be a good time to do something a little different and use this week to reflect on all the blessing in my life.

Psalm 107: 1 - 3 say, 
" Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good,

for his steadfast love endures forever!

Let the redeemed of the Lord say so,
whom he has redeemed from trouble

and gathered in from the lands,
from the east and from the west,
from the north and from the south."

The Lords everlasting love and goodness is what grounds me. Without the gracious and undeserving gift of Jesus, I know that I would be a lost soul. But I am redeemed through his grace and I know that I should be always exulting and thanking him for this. Sadly, that doesn't always happen as I get caught up in 'life' and try to deal with it on my own. I know that an independent heart does not get far before God reminds me that by depending on him, only then will I succeed.

So today I am thankful for my creator, my heavenly Father, my ultimate provider of all the goodness in my life, and today I give thanks for this.
