My like for gnomes arose after I watched the quirky french film, Amelie, staring Audrey Tautou. As a way for her ailing father to experience traveling around the world, Amelie takes his garden gnome to a photography shop and poses it infront of various backdrops of famous landmarks from around the world. The "gnome" then sends her father post cards from his travels. It's cute no?
